Engines Comments: Engine overhauled in 1964. There are no log entries between 1979 - 1997. The aircraft appears to have sat idle a majority of that time.
Equipment Comments: King KLX 135A, Narco AT 150. The AT 150 is heavily damaged. Condition of the KLX 135A is unknown.
Description of Accident: Aircraft sustianed loss of engine power. Impacted corn field in a nose high attitude.
Description of Damage: Aircraft sustained substantial damage. Damage includes, but is not limited to, engine and cowling, propeller, fuselage/cabin, both wings, firewall,
LogBooks Comment: Current engine installed on 4/6/64. Airframe log books date back to 1948. Engine log books date back to 1964. There is also a notarized statement that the previous engine logbook was lost. Aircraft & engine log books both have a gap from 1979 - 1997. It appears the aircraft was idle during that time.
Remarks: NSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. AIRCRAFT IS DISASSEMBLED. THE AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALVAGE, IT WAS LOST IN THE INCIDENT.
